Goa, Oct. 28 -- The Supreme Court on Monday sharply criticized state governments for failing to submit affidavits confirming compliance with its August directive to capture, sterilize, and release stray dogs across India. Expressing strong displeasure, the court noted that several stray dog attacks had been reported nationwide in the two months since its order.
Citing recent incidents, the bench highlighted multiple attacks in Maharashtra, including one in Pune where a child was mauled, and another in Bhandara district, where a pack of 20 dogs injured a young girl.
