Goa, Jan. 1 -- Strict safety norms will be enforced at the Shree Dev Bodgeshwar Jatra in Mapusa, which begins today, with authorities putting multiple precautionary measures in place to prevent mishaps. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has directed organisers to comply with mandatory safety requirements, especially for giant wheels and amusement rides. Any rides operating without the required No Objection Certificates will be sealed and removed. Officials said fire, electrical and structural safety inspections have been made compulsory ahead of the festivities.
