India, Feb. 3 -- Strawberry cultivation at Verlem in Sanguem recorded a significant improvement this year, with farmers reporting better yields and higher visitor turnout compared to the previous season.
All three Self Help Groups (SHGs) engaged in strawberry farming successfully cultivated the crop this year, unlike last year when one group suffered losses due to crop damage. The improved cultivation resulted in consistent production and steady sales throughout the season.
Farmers said that from the very beginning, the groups remained in profit, reflecting better planning, favourable conditions and effective farm management. The increase in visitor footfall also contributed positively to sales and overall earnings.
