Goa, Oct. 17 -- The Goa government has amended the Goa Police Service Rules, introducing revised promotion norms and service conditions for officers.

Under the new rules, 60% of police inspectors (PIs) with a minimum of five years of regular service will now be eligible for promotion to the junior scale of the Goa Police Service.

The notification also states that a combined eligibility list of all PI-rank officers - including those from the armourer, wireless, radio mechanic, motor transport, and Indian Reserve Battalion units - will be prepared every January for promotion consideration.
