PANJIM, April 22 -- After the successful campaigning within the parameters of Model Code of Conduct, the election process has reached a crucial silent period of 48 hours which will culminate with the polling on April 23.

A total of 28 candidates -- 12 for Lok Sabha and 16 for three by-elections are in fray.

A month-long hectic election campaign ended on Sunday at 5 pm. The polling for two Lok Sabha seats - North and South Goa and three assembly elections in Mandrem, Shiroda and Mapusa will begin at 7 am on April 23 and culminate at 6 pm.

As many as 11,35,811 voters are eligible to cast their vote on Tuesday.
