Panjim, Sept. 22 -- The Goa Police's Cyber Crime Cell has advised students to desist from following suspicious links on the internet and avoid downloading apps from unverified sources as these are "turning into privacy risks".

Addressing a gathering of students of an unaided school in the capital on Saturday, Superintendent of Police (Cyber Crime) Pankaj Kumar Singh explained the various modus operandi used by cyber criminals. The officer also highlighted the importance of not following any suspicious links, not downloading apps from unverified sources and not revealing sensitive details on social media.

Inspector General of Police, Jaspal Singh emphasised about the negative consequences of technology exploited by criminals.
