Goa, July 12 -- South Goa trawler owners and local fishermen convened at the Fisheries Office in Colva today to voice serious concerns over alleged violations during the ongoing monsoon fishing ban. Officials from the Fisheries Department were also present to hear their grievances.

According to the trawler owners, while the ban allows only small canoes with a single motor to fish close to shore, several canoes equipped with more than two motors have reportedly ventured far into the sea-a clear breach of the ban guidelines.
