Goa, July 19 -- South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes recently engaged with local fishermen in Assolna to address their longstanding concerns, pledging proactive representation of their issues at the national level. During the meeting, Fernandes assured the fishermen that he would bring up their grievances in Parliament and, should an opportunity to debate not arise, would formally communicate their problems to the Union Minister in writing.
A key focal point of the discussions was the growing control of Goa's coastline by the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA).
