Goa, Sept. 4 -- The South Goa Comunidade's Administrator has rejected requests from the Margao and Aquem Comunidades to utilize community funds in pursuing a court case against the Regularisation Bill.

Despite the refusal, committee members have pledged to finance the legal challenge with their own resources, asserting that the Bill undermines the Code of Comunidades and threatens the traditional framework governing these village institutions.

The move signals growing discontent among comunidade members, who argue that the legislation could erode centuries-old rights and autonomy of local communities.
