Goa, Dec. 24 -- The Socorro Panchayat has formally sealed the residence of the accused in the Porvorim child molestation case, following mounting pressure from local residents. Concerned citizens had gheraoed the house on Tuesday, urging authorities to secure the premises due to the sensitive and disturbing nature of the crime.

Officials confirmed that the accused's wife and 16-year-old daughter had already vacated the house before the sealing order was carried out.

The accused, who worked as a school ECO van driver responsible for transporting children, has been alleged to have sexually abused a six-year-old girl. The shocking incident has triggered strong outrage and calls for swift justice within the community.
