Goa, March 4 -- A water pipeline in Mala, Panjim, sustained damage due to construction debris improperly disposed of by Smart City contractors, leading to a disruption in the water supply for the area. As a result, residents in Mala, Neugi Nagar, and Fontainhas experienced dry taps. For three days, officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) conducted a search to locate the damaged pipeline and determine the cause of the problem. Upon identification, repair work commenced to restore the water supply. This incident raises significant concerns regarding the management of construction waste and its effects on local infrastructure, causing considerable inconvenience for residents due to the water shortage.
