Goa, Jan. 22 -- Canacona Deputy Collector Prataprao Gaunkar on Wednesday assured that fair hearings will be conducted for all individuals who have raised objections after finding their names missing from the electoral rolls following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
Gaunkar said that a total of 323 objections have been received in Canacona alone so far. He explained that during scrutiny, it was found that some individuals possessed foreign nationality, which they themselves acknowledged. However, in several other cases, voters were found to hold valid Indian passports but were working abroad, while in some instances doubts and suspicions were raised regarding eligibility.
