Goa, May 25 -- A house in Ambegaon, Pali-Bicholim, owned by Mahadev Dalvi, was destroyed in a fire early Tuesday morning. Preliminary investigations by the Bicholim fire services suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the blaze. Fortunately, the residents were awakened by the heat in time and managed to escape unharmed.

The fire, however, caused significant damage-gutting the roof and destroying household items, including food grains and utensils. The total estimated loss exceeds Rs 3 lakh.

A team from the Bicholim fire station, led by officer Rahul Desai and supported by local residents, successfully extinguished the flames and prevented further damage, saving property worth approximately Rs 5 lakh. After the fire was brought ...
