Goa, March 24 -- Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte stated that the government will take strict action on the shack owners who have sublet their shacks to non-Goans by terminating their licence permanently. Due to subletting to non-Goans, there has been a steep rise in crimes in the coastal belt.

On Monday, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte stated that the department has cracked down on illegal shack rentals, revealing that 110 shacks have been sublet in various categories. Out of all the shacks, 6 shacks were found to have sublet their shacks to outsiders, to which their license have been terminated.
