India, Jan. 17 -- Goa was rocked by another murder on Friday after a Russian woman was allegedly found dead in a rented room in Morjim, marking the second killing of a Russian national reported in the state within a single day.

According to police sources, the woman's body was discovered inside the room she had been staying in, under circumstances that raised strong suspicions of foul play. Locals alerted the authorities after noticing something amiss, following which police rushed to the spot and began an investigation.

This shocking incident comes hours after another Russian national was murdered elsewhere in the state, sending shockwaves through the tourist belt and raising serious concerns over the safety of foreign visitors.
