Goa, June 7 -- In a significant development in the Arambol hydroponic weed case, Goa Police have made a second arrest. Shabeel K.V., a resident of Frazer Town in Bengaluru, was apprehended for allegedly supplying narcotics to the primary accused, Afsal Puthiyaveettil (33).
Investigators say that call records and a suspicious financial trail link Shabeel to the drug operation, prompting authorities to invoke Section 29 of the NDPS Act, which deals with criminal conspiracy related to drug offences.
The arrest follows the earlier bust of a hydroponic cannabis cultivation setup in Arambol, Goa. The case continues to unfold as police delve deeper into the network believed to be trafficking high-grade marijuana across state lines.
