Goa, Nov. 23 -- Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant stated that the government will firmly defend the Mhaje Ghar scheme in the High Court. He said nearly one lakh people have already collected forms to regularise their homes, and several communities and beneficiaries will file intervention applications. Forms are available at every panchayat and deputy collector office. The government's goal is to legalise all houses built before 1972 in order to protect Goan homes from demolition. Sawant urged residents to apply within the next six months, stressing that the scheme is meant to benefit Goans.
