MARGAO, March 4 -- The Sarzora gram sabha while congratulating Sarpanch Sabita Mascarenhas for being conferred the best social worker award approved a deficit budget of Rs 20,32, 500 which deficit is buffered to a great extent by the opening balance.
The budget estimates shows an expenditure of Rs 81,62,00 as against receipts amounting to only Rs. 61,29,500. However, given the fact that the opening balance is Rs 42,18,259 the deficit is buffered providing a surplus of Rs 21,85,759.
Grant in Aid from the government which is projected at Rs. 20 lakhs is the highest revenue followed by Rs. 5 lakhs each for garbage management and from 14th Finance Commission. The panchayat also projects receipts of Rs 2 lakh from the Tribal Welfare Department...
