Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club advanced to the quarter-finals of the 20th Velim Panchayat Cup football tournament, organised by SWC Zaino, Velim, after defeating Cuncolim Union, 2-1, played at the Velim Church ground. Both sides were locked 1-1 at half-time after an evenly fought opening session. Priston and David found the target for Sao Jose de Areal, while Wilson netted the lone goal for Cuncolim Union. Bersal Viegas of Sao Jose de Areal SC was adjudged man-of-the-match.
