Goa, Dec. 17 -- Truck owners from Sanvordem have voiced strong resentment over heavy taxation and the prolonged mining ban that has continued for the last 14 years, saying the uncertainty has pushed them into financial distress.
According to the truck owners, mining operations resume only for brief periods before being halted again, offering no stable source of income. Many have invested heavily in repairing and decorating their trucks by taking loans, but with irregular work, they are unable to recover even basic maintenance costs and are incurring continuous losses.
