Goa, Sept. 13 -- The Sanvordem fish market, situated near the Sanvordem bridge, was removed as part of a road encroachment clearance operation conducted by the Public Works Department (PWD), following a directive from the High Court.
The clearance has left many local fish vendors, who relied on the market for their daily income, without a source of livelihood. The vendors have now approached the Sanvordem Panchayat, urging authorities to provide alternative options to sustain their businesses.
Local officials have acknowledged the concerns and are reportedly exploring solutions to help vendors continue their trade while ensuring compliance with the court-mandated clearance.
