Sanguem, April 16 -- A group of 15-16 individuals allegedly assaulted Mithil Desai and his family at their residence in Cavre Pirla, Sanguem, in what is believed to be a fallout of an ongoing dispute related to laterite mining operations in the area.
Following the violent incident, Desai initially approached Quepem Police Station to lodge a complaint. However, according to the family, no First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the time, leading them to escalate the matter to the South Goa Collector's office in Margao to seek urgent police protection.
