SALIGAO, April 26 -- Five panchas of Saligao panchayat have moved a no-confidence motion against Sarpanch Lafira Gomes by submitting a letter to the Block Development Office (BDO).
The motion has been moved as the Sarpanch has allegedly not been taking the members into confidence before taking any decision regarding development, encouraging illegal construction and misusing her power.
The BDO will convene a special meeting in the panchayat office to discuss the notice of no-confidence against the sarpanch.
The signatories to the no-confidence motion are Deputy Sarpanch Pandurang Harmalkar, Panchas Kalpana Oraskar, Shradha Borkar, Deepak Rane and Dayanand Mandrekar.
