Goa, Sept. 16 -- The Salcete Mamledar on Tuesday issued a conditional order directing Quality Experts, a company based in Cuncolim IDC, to remove mud from a pit on the company's plot within 10 days after allegations that wastewater had been discharged there last week.

The action follows claims that the company discharged wastewater onto a plot where the South Goa District Court had earlier imposed a stay against the firm. Authorities say the Mamledar's order requires the company to clear the pit and comply with any further administrative or environmental directions, failing which additional remedial or punitive steps may be considered.
