Goa, Sept. 16 -- The long-standing Sal Devasthan dispute has deepened, with fresh allegations of large-scale financial irregularities surfacing against the former temple committee.

At a press conference, current Devasthan chairman Meghshyam Raut revealed that the previous committee had allegedly sold temple land at throwaway prices, causing a scam worth crores of rupees.

Adding to the controversy, a recent inspection of temple assets found that jewellery worth lakhs of rupees donated to the deity was fake, raising further questions about mismanagement and accountability within the former committee.
