Goa, May 22 -- In a proactive move toward sustainable urban development, the monthly meeting of the Sakhali Municipal Council saw the adoption of major green initiatives aimed at transforming open and vacant lands across the city.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Well Water and Parayar, corporators unanimously agreed to green up unused plots, encouraging eco-friendly land use in both public and private spaces.

As part of the new policy, it was also decided that during the construction of new buildings, 25% of the land area must be preserved for gardening or green space.
