Goa, Jan. 13 -- Drinking Water Minister Subhash Faldesai informed the House that the assessed water requirement for the Mormugao constituency stands at 12 million litres per day (MLD), while the total demand of the taluka is around 81 MLD. He stated that the current water supply ranges between 77 and 78 MLD, and any shortfall occurs only during technical breakdowns.

Responding to concerns over water scarcity raised by Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, the minister explained that Mormugao faces challenges primarily due to its high-altitude location, which affects water distribution despite adequate overall supply levels.
