Goa, Jan. 12 -- The Deputy Collector has ordered Club Goya to return an agricultural land parcel in Anjuna to its original state within 30 days. Authorities discovered that the club had illegally converted the land for non-agricultural purposes. A penalty of Rs.15 lakh has been imposed for violating land-use rules. The order specifies that if the club fails to comply within the stipulated period, the Mamlatdar will undertake the restoration process. This decision highlights the government's strict stance on protecting agricultural land and ensuring adherence to land-use regulations, sending a clear message to establishments involved in unauthorised land conversions.
