Goa, Feb. 26 -- Indian skipper Rohit Sharma crossed the 4000-run mark in Test cricket during the ongoing fourth Test against England at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. Rohit achieved this milestone in the second innings as he walked out to bat during India's pursuit of a 192-run target.

Unfortunately, Rohit couldn't make a substantial contribution in the first innings, getting dismissed for just two runs. However, in the second innings, he remained unbeaten at 24*. Throughout the series, Rohit has displayed glimpses of his batting prowess but has struggled to convert starts into big scores. In the four matches, he accumulated a total of 266 runs at an average of 38 and a strike rate of 65.35, including one century in Rajkot.
