Goa, Jan. 9 -- Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that rising migration has impacted Goan society, particularly with rapid industrialisation across the state. Speaking during Goa Legislator's Day, Sawant noted that since 2000, Goa has witnessed significant growth in sectors such as tourism and industry, which has led to an increase in migrant labour. He said this demographic shift has affected the local population in several ways. The Chief Minister added that while development is essential, the challenges arising from migration must be addressed through better planning and policy measures to protect Goan interests and social balance.
