Goa, April 21 -- A growing rat infestation at Mega Mart in Ponda has raised serious concerns about hygiene and food safety, prompting the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to launch an inspection at the retail outlet.
According to staff at the mart, rats have become a daily nuisance, with employees alleging a lack of effective pest control. The situation has reportedly become so severe that workers are now forced to wear gloves and masks while on duty to avoid contamination.
The issue escalated when a hairless rat was allegedly spotted within the premises, alarming both employees and customers. The sighting triggered immediate public complaints and led to the intervention of health authorities.
