Goa, March 10 -- The Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) announced on Sunday that Kannada actress Harshavardhini Ranya, also known as Ranya Rao, who was apprehended for gold smuggling from Dubai, had been granted land for the establishment of a steel plant by the former government in February 2023.

The board responded to reports indicating that a company associated with the actor was granted 12 acres of industrial land by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) in 2023.
