Goa, Oct. 31 -- Unseasonal rains have dealt a heavy blow to farmers in Anjuna, flooding paddy fields and destroying crops ready for harvest. The sudden downpour over the past few days has left fields waterlogged, with farmers struggling to salvage what remains of their produce. Many expressed frustration, saying that despite their hard work and timely planting, unpredictable weather has ruined their yield and financial hopes for the season. Locals have urged the agriculture department to conduct inspections and provide compensation, as the losses are expected to severely affect small-scale cultivators dependent on paddy farming for livelihood.
