Goa, April 17 -- As the world grapples with the effects of climate change, we must take proactive measures to safeguard our environment. Unfortunately, the village of Raia is facing a grave threat to its natural landscape. Ex-sarpanch Riza Rodrigues, along with 50 concerned villagers, has come forward to raise their voices against the illegal hill cutting in their area.

According to Rodrigues, the issue began when a few individuals decided to undertake hill-cutting without proper permission from the authorities. As a result, the entire hill has been decimated and numerous trees have been chopped down. The situation has escalated to such an extent that there are fears of Raia turning into another Moti-Dongar.
