Goa, Sept. 10 -- The Opposition in Goa has nominated Quepem MLA Altone D'Costa for the post of Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker. His nomination has been officially filed, setting the stage for the Assembly to elect a new Speaker on September 25, 2025.

The election will determine the presiding officer of the Assembly, with D'Costa representing the Opposition's choice in the upcoming contest.
