Goa, Dec. 3 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday asserted that Moscow is prepared for conflict if Europe chooses confrontation, accusing European leaders of undermining ongoing efforts to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine ahead of his meeting with visiting US officials.
His remarks coincided with the arrival of US envoy Steve Witkoff and former President Donald Trump's adviser Jared Kushner in Moscow for crucial discussions aimed at resolving the nearly four-year-old conflict. Their visit followed several days of intense diplomatic activity.
"We are not seeking a war with Europe, but if Europe initiates one, we are ready," Putin said during a briefing in Moscow.
