Goa, Oct. 9 -- Punjab Police have launched a major crackdown on objectionable and unlawful social media content after receiving multiple complaints about posts and videos targeting Chief Justice of India (CJI) Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai. The action has led to the registration of several FIRs across multiple districts.
Authorities reported that over 100 social media handles were involved in sharing or promoting content deemed hateful and inflammatory. A police spokesperson stated that the posts included attacks on a high constitutional authority, caste-based vilification, and incitement, amounting to public mischief and deliberate attempts to disrupt peace.
