Goa, Dec. 5 -- The Xeldem land dispute has taken a new turn after the President's Secretariat pressed the Goa Revenue Department to respond quickly to allegations of illegal entries and unauthorised construction on roughly 13,000 sq m of temple-owned property. Acting on the complaint, Under Secretary (Revenue-II) Agnelo D'Souza has sent a direction to the South Goa Collector demanding an immediate investigation and verification of the claims. The land in question, identified as Survey No. 172/2 and linked to Shree Santeri Shantadurga Devasthan, is currently overseen by the Quepem Mamlatdar.
