Goa, Oct. 25 -- Power Minister Sudin Dha valikar on Friday announced a new electricity billing system aimed at promoting energy conservation and responsible power usage, even as the Opposition slammed the move as a "daylight robbery" on consumers. Speaking to reporters at the Mantralaya, Dhavalikar said the re vised billing model would reward low-consumption households with discounts while penalising wasteful use during peak hours. "Consumers who use less electricity will get a 20 per cent discount, while those wasting power between 5 pm and 9 am will face an additional 20 per cent surcharge," Dhavalikar said.
