Goa, May 28 -- An Indian postal van en route from Margao to Canacona reportedly sank into roadside mud at Karmal Ghat, sparking outrage among locals who blame the Public Works Department (PWD) for negligence.

The incident occurred on a stretch where the roadside had been left unlevelled and uncovered with loose mud, which residents say has become hazardous, especially during the rains. Eyewitnesses claim that the absence of proper surfacing or stone layering led to the van losing traction and partially sinking.

"This could have been prevented if the PWD had done their job properly. There have been several complaints, but no action," a local resident said.
