Goa, May 30 -- Residents of Pundalik Nagar in Porvorim endured over 12 hours without electricity on Thursday after a transformer failure plunged the area into darkness. The power cut added to the woes of the locality, which is already grappling with inconsistent water supply.

Despite numerous calls to the 1912 electricity helpline, locals were informed that restoration work would only commence the following morning, after 9 AM. Frustration mounted among residents as the delayed response was reportedly due to a lack of modern infrastructure within the electricity department.
