Goa, July 28 -- A 44-year-old inter-State chain snatcher from Gujarat, who is believed to be involved in numerous crimes was arrested by the Porvorim Police at a guesthouse in Calangute.

The accused has been identified as Kishorbhai Mohanbhai Macchi, also known as Ranpariya Ajay Hasmukhbhai. He was arrested for allegedly snatching a gold chain in PDA Colony, Porvorim, while impersonating a courier delivery agent.

The arrest follows a complaint filed by a local woman on July 7, 2025. She reported that an unknown individual on a scooter arrived at her residence, claiming to have a parcel for her. When she stepped outside to inquire, the man snatched her gold chain, valued at Rs 1.8 lakh, and fled.
