Frustrated over the lack of sufficient medical facilities at the Sub District Hospital, Ponda residents have called upon the government to upgrade the hospital with CT scan and other medical equipment.

Viraj Sapre from Ponda said, "It has been two years since the Sub District Hospital has no surgeon and this has caused inconvenience to the locals especially those from remote areas who are compelled to visit South Goa District Hospital at Margao or the Goa Medical College at Bambolim for medical issues. I urge Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to immediately appoint a surgeon at the Sub-District Hospital."
