Goa, Nov. 14 -- Goa Police, through its Cyber Crime Cell, has issued a Statewide alert after several citizens reported receiving fraudulent traffic-violation notices on WhatsApp that appeared to carry police insignia and images.

According to the advisory, the messages instruct users to click links or download attachments to view supposed e-challans, but are actually designed to steal personal information or install malicious software. Police cautioned the public not to click any links, share personal details, or download any '.apk' file sent through such messages, and reminded citizens that genuine challans can only be verified on the official Parivahan portal.
