Goa, Jan. 7 -- Mining activities by Salgaonkar Mining have once again come to a standstill in the Poira-Mayem area after villagers blocked transportation operations for the past two days. Residents have refused to allow mining work to continue until their five key demands are addressed.

The agitation, which has been ongoing since October, intensified into a full road blockade after recent negotiations with the company and authorities failed to yield a resolution. Villagers say the protest will continue until concrete action is taken to meet their concerns.
