Goa, Sept. 13 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his visit to Manipur's Churachandpur district, appealed directly to groups engaged in violence to abandon conflict and embrace peace. His intervention comes amid rising concerns over prolonged instability in the state.
"Manipur cannot heal with bloodshed," Modi said, addressing the gathering. "Peace and reconciliation are the pillars on which the state's future must be built." He urged all communities to set aside differences and unite in the interest of stability.
