Goa, July 7 -- At the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a forceful call for reforming global governance institutions, arguing that they have consistently failed to represent or serve the interests of the Global South. He underscored that despite constituting two-thirds of humanity and a significant portion of today's global economy, countries from the Global South remain largely excluded from decision-making in bodies like the United Nations Security Council, the World Trade Organization, and major development banks.
