Goa, Jan. 18 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the Rs 6,957-crore Kaziranga Elevated Corridor and virtually flagged off two Amrit Bharat Express trains in Assam's Nagaon district. Arriving from Guwahati in the final leg of his two-day visit to the State, the Prime Minister performed the Bhoomi Poojan for the ambitious wildlife-friendly project.
The corridor aims to ensure safe movement of animals across Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, reduce accidents on National Highway-715, and promote ecotourism while creating local employment.
