Goa, July 15 -- A massive 500 mm high-pressure water pipeline burst on Tuesday along the main road at Karapur-Vijaynagar, unleashing thousands of litres of water and severely disrupting daily life. The sudden gush flooded the area, washed away parts of the asphalt, and forced partial road closures, causing traffic chaos and serious safety hazards for commuters.
Local engineers and authorities quickly arrived to contain the damage, isolate the pipeline, and assess the eroded road stretch. Emergency efforts include traffic diversions, immediate repair work to plug the water loss, and planning for full-scale restoration of both the pipeline and the road. Officials have prioritised restoring water supply and ensuring public safety.
