Goa, July 28 -- A tragic motorcycle accident in Verna claimed the life of a pillion rider on Sunday, while the rider sustained serious injuries after their two-wheeler reportedly skidded out of control. The incident occurred late at night and is being attributed to suspected drunk riding.

According to Verna Police, the rider, identified as Ritesh Bediya, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Preliminary reports suggest the motorcycle skidded, causing the pillion rider to suffer fatal injuries on the spot.

Bediya, who was seriously injured, is currently undergoing treatment. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act for rash ...
